## Planner – Port Elizabeth (Onsite/Shift) Purpose of Role: To ensure growth within the business model by ensuring production orders for key OE products are loaded and maintained to ensure products are produced to meet customer committed due dates and meet or exceed customer expectations. This role is based Onsite/Shift in Port Elizabeth. Weir is a global engineering business. We are a global family of 11,000 uniquely talented people in over 60 counties, inspiring each other to do the best work of our lives. ### On a typical day you will be expected to: - Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. - Manage the order book so delivery dates are valid and correct, ensuring short lead time orders are loaded and that any rectified or revised delivery dates are sent to Sales to amend SOA. - Ensure date alignment (PA del dates VS SOA del dates) — these must be the same and actions should be taken daily. - Keep a daily backlog/critical list, make sure there is an action plan for all backlog items and that Backlog must be zero. - Monitor and approve all MRP action messages daily: ensure production orders are cancelled where appropriate and communicate with purchasing to cancel lower-level orders on supplier after the above has been actioned. - Manage the slotting room so all data is up to date, Job Tags are printed Daily and updated with the correct colour codes, with start date vs completion date aligned daily and a weekly board audit to ensure all Tags are on the board. - Create all Job Packs for Tags that are Red – Orange and maintain Slotting Room 5S. - Compile the plan for the following week focusing on plan adherence and reducing overdue orders, while considering production capacity and slotting. - Adhere to all HSE and housekeeping requirements and follow the Duty of Care Policy at all times. ### Knowledge, experience and tools we expect you to have The role requires: National Diploma in Logistics / Production Planning or Industrial Engineer. Project Management. At least 3 years’ experience; Or Matric/Grade 12 with more than 5 years’ experience. Experience on Microsoft (MS Office 365), run and interpret Excel Pivot Table reports. BAAN 4c4 / INfor LN / SAP – shop floor functions (i.e. generation of production orders, projects, outbound advice etc.). Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
