A textile manufacturing concern in Kimberley, Northern Cape requires a Factory Worker to operate sewing and cutting machines, inspect products for defects, and assist with material handling. Previous factory experience is advantageous but comprehensive on-the-job training is provided for the right candidate. Responsibilities Report any equipment malfunctions, quality defects, or safety hazards to the shift supervisor immediately to prevent injuries and production delays. Assemble products or components on the production line following work instructions, achieving daily output targets while maintaining quality standards. Operate production machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures, ensuring safe and efficient operation at all times. Move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods between workstations and storage areas using trolleys or pallet jacks. Adhere to all workplace health and safety procedures including wearing prescribed personal protective equipment such as safety boots, goggles, and gloves. Set up workstations with required materials, tools, and components at the start of each shift to ensure uninterrupted production. Record production data including output quantities, downtime, and quality check results on daily production sheets. Requirements Basic numeracy and literacy to read work instructions, complete production records, and understand safety signage. Ability to follow instructions accurately and adhere to standard operating procedures without deviation. Good attention to detail to identify product defects and quality issues during in-process checks. Willingness to work shifts including night shift, weekends, and public holidays as required by production schedules. Previous experience in a factory, manufacturing, or production environment is advantageous. Qualifications Grade 10 with Factory Production Experience
